EOCT is coming!
If you are interested in studying for the EOCT with the in-class powerpoint that we used, click on the FILES section to your left. You will see the EOCT powerpoint is attached.
Feel free to review the pages in the All-In-One American Literature workbook. You could even take a “mock test” on pages 68-96, if you were really motivated. I would suggest just thumbing through the test to see the kinds of questions that are being asked.
Eat a good breakfast, bring an umbrella for the rain, and be on time for the test. We will be in the Macland computer lab for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Make sure you go to A lunch, too.

Something to note…
At the beginnning of the year, students and parents signed a syllabus that included the cheating policy. Your signatures stated your complete understanding of these policies..
If you feel you have something to tell me regarding your integrity or the integrity of others, you have until Tuesday, March 11th to do so. If I must come to you because your name has been given to me, all parents, coaches and appropriate administrators will be advised of your behavior.
For students who are still unclear about the cheating policy at McEachern High School, here is the reference to the policy from page 13 of the on-line handbook.
Cheating occurs any time a student solicits, receives or offers unauthorized help on any assignment. This includes class work, homework, projects, special assignments, and tests. Whenever a student is guilty of cheating, the teacher shall collect the student’s paper, mark a zero for the work, and notify the parent(s) and the appropriate administrator. When writing reports, presentations, essays, projects, etc., students must give credit to all sources used, including the internet.
Students who have cell phones or other electronic devices out during evaluations, such as quizzes and tests, will be considered to be cheating.

Update-February Snow Days Assignments
The Stranger in the Photo Is Me handout has been updated from the original post. Please make sure you do the MULTIPLE CHOICE questions, not the short answer questions.

February 11-18
Snow days have returned. We cannot lose time, however. The following pages must be read in the textbook by your return to class:
462-476-American Literature textbook.
508-513 and 516-517-American Literature textbook
Go to the Files section and read the story “The Stranger in the Photo is Me.” Answer questions 1- 10 at the end of the story. If you cannot print out the story, read it and answer the questions on a different sheet of paper.
Go to the FILES section and download the copy of vocabulary for the Diagnostic Test 3. You will not have classtime to work on this handout. Remember: The diagnostic test 3 counts as a summative grade. You will also turn in the vocabulary sheet on the day of the test.
Please Note: I have attached two excellent links regarding cheating in the classroom. While I like to believe all of my students have the highest levels of integrity, I have of late been quite disappointed in myself for being so trusting. Please understand that if you have been less than honest in my class, it does not mean that I am going to approach you specifically each and every time. However, when you ask me for a recommendation letter your senior year of school, just know that I will be exceptionally honest with my insights.
