Biography:
Born & raised in Omaha, Nebraska (home of the College World Series, Henry Doorly Zoo, & the Creighton Bluejays), I graduated from Carroll College (Helena, MT) in 1984 with a B.A. in Political Science. Called to education while earning a B.S. in Secondary Education @ the University of Maryland in 1992, I began teaching in 1993 at Dekalb’s Lakeside High School.

Admittedly a football coaching “mercenary”, I’ve learned much from many varied experiences and educators in several diverse settings. I cherish my educator role and model many attributes vital to healthy development and growth: honesty, loyalty, a devout work ethic, and commitment to the “team”.

As a life-long learner, I constantly attend workshops, clinics, read books, and confer with colleagues to become the best teacher possible. I respect all people and continually work as a positive and unifying force in the community and in the school where I work. I sincerely view each student as if (s)he were my own child.
