Week of February 2nd - 6th

In Marketing Principles this week we will be talking about economics and how the affect the marketplace. The students will better understand how the economy directly affects everyday life along with companies and how they make decisions moving forward.This unit will last the entire week and we will have a few projects to go along with it.
In Professional Sales this week, we are going to look into how to analyze and segment a market in a specific area. This will allow students to understand more in depth why companies pick certain products or services and advertise them in preselected demographics.

Week of September 22nd - 26th
Welcome back everyone!! Hope you enjoyed your week off! Now that we are back, its time to get to work.
In Marketing Principles this week we are starting Unit 5 which covers the economics involved in marketing. We have a few assignments and one project that will better help you understand how the economy is intertwined into marketing. We will also be starting a mock stock market game this week that will continue throughout the semester. This way you will start to understand the basics to the stock market and how to pick certain companies to invest in.
In Professional Sales and Marketing Communications we are starting Unit 7 and Unit 5 in each subject area. In Professional Sales we are moving on to Unit 7 which covers promotional planning and advertising. This unit will have some vocabulary associated with it along with a project. In Marketing Communications we are moving on to marketing information management and identifying marketing research issues.
All assignments will be posted in the student drive under handouts.

Week of September 2nd - 5th
We have a short week but a lot of information to cover.
In Marketing Principles we are finishing up Unit 3 with a Market Segmentation Project. Some students will be finishing a marketing segmentation assignment or SWOT Analysis if they were absent otherwise we are pushing ahead. The goal is to get this entire unit done by Friday.
In Professional Sales and Marketing Communications, we are also on Unit 3. In PSP, we will be working on a marketing segmentation project that will be due Friday. In Marketing Communications, we will be focusing on our project of finding a person in the business world and discover what their day-to-day business operations look like. Your findings will be presented to the class.
Also, students and parents please don’t be alarmed by the Pre-Test scores that were recently posted. These DO NOT count against the students grade and is more of a benchmark to see how much they learn in this course.

Week of August 25 - 29
Another week in the books and ready to start working again. Thank you all parents and students who came out for the open house. Progress Reports will go out today so parents you should see the most current grades for your student.
In Marketing Principles this week we are going to continue on Unit 3 and try to complete it by the end of the week. We completed the 7 Functions of Marketing and now we are moving on to the 4 P’s of Marketing Project. Later in the week we will have a SWOT Analysis and Market Segmentation assignment.
In Marketing Communications we will finish our Advertising Project for level 2 students and have presentations today and tomorrow. We will then start on Unit 3 which covers the Promotional Mix.
For level 3 students we will continue looking into nonverbal communication skills and transition into the active listening chapter.

In Marketing Principles we are starting on the first unit that really starts getting into marketing. We will be discussing the functions of marketing, marketing concepts and strategies, and what marketing really is. We will be doing a combination of work that I have developed combined with the Georgia Department of Education online virtual tools. www.gadoe.org is the site if you want to become more familiar with the information.
In Marketing Communications we are moving on into the absolute basics of communication. Before we actually start presenting, I want everyone to know how to communicate well and give a solid presentation, so this work should help you. The work we do this week will be a good foundation to build for future assignments.
In Professional Sales, we are starting out with learning about consumerism and why companies advertise products in a certain way. This unit allows you to see the true meaning behind their deceptive marketing campaigns and how they get you to buy their product repeatedly.
