  Talented Students

I moved to Georgia 3 years ago from Texas, since my first day in class here at McEachern I can truly say, we have some of the brightest, most creative and ambitious students I have ever been around. This Culinary 2 class affirmed my beliefs over and over again. Several of our cooking labs were beyond the skill level of high school students and the cupcake wars were amazing….the best hands down. Great job guys…..and remember to stay in the “KITCHEN”.

  Where did the “TIME GO”

In Culinary Arts time is essential to everything we do and every school year it seems to ZOOM bye. It has been a very good school year for my students. I am proud of this group of kids, they came with alot of ambition and zeal; I think they are leaving this class with more knowledge and skills that can be used at home or next year in Culinary 2. Good job students and I look forward to seeing you next year…..in the kitchen.

  Oils Lab

There is only a couple of things I don’t like when it comes to teaching Culinary….students and oil (grease). However, we have to teach them how to use it correctly avoiding mishaps and fires. That being said, we are going to tackle our oil lab Monday and Tuesday, with some Fish and Shrimp Po Boys sandwiches coupled with the best french fries in Marietta. Wish me luck.

  First 6 Weeks

Ok….can you believe it, 6 weeks has come and gone? We are just getting in the swing of things in the kitchen at McEachern High School. Big thanks to Mrs. Montgomery for helping us get the supplies (groceries) we so desperately needed to get the students going.

The students and I have set a very lofty goal this year for culinary arts. We plan on creating a bistro for the teachers and professional staff at our school. De la Tribe Bistro will serve as  an alternative for lunch on a daily basis. The students wrote a Business Plan and submitted to the school administration for approval. We are in the process of completing our market analysis ensuring this is a viable ideal. In the meantime, we are getting all the rust off from the summer and has lauched several cooking ventures (recipes) that has help the students get reacclaimated to the kitchen.

That’s all for now…..see you in the kitchen.
