I was born and raised in Powder Springs so I am a product of Cobb County Schools. Many of my earliest memories as sa child occured right here on the campus of MHS. After graduating high school, I went on to graduate from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Early Childhood education. In 2000, I came back to Powder Springs to work at Varner Elementary School. During my 12 years at Varner, I went on to Kennesaw State University to get my Masters in Early Childhood Education. I also continued my graduate studies at Georgia State University earning my Specialist in Early Childhood Education and becoming certified in Educational Leadership and Supervision, and Teacher Support Specialist. In 2010, I earned my certification in Special Education and I made the move from teaching general education to teaching special education. In 2011, I moved to Compton Elementary School where I worked for 3 years. Then in 2014, I made the move from elementary school to my current position as an MOID teacher at McEachern. In March of 2019, I married my husband, Coach Small, who I met on my first day at McEachern High School.
