Commander Harris was born and raised in Slidell, La. He was commissioned in the Navy through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX. After successfully completing Naval Flight School, he was winged as a Naval Aviator. Commander Harris completed a successful 20 year career and various tours of duty flying and instructing in all variants the F/A-18 Hornet, the majority of which out of Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. Commander Harris’ awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Strike, Navy Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars,and various unit and service citations.

This week I will also be collecting your Billet Requests for next years Staff positions via Remind. Please look under the Files in the NROTC-UNIT-ACTIVITIES Blog to view the Covid Dream Sheet. Also view the Billet Descriptions document which describes the expected responsibilities for each Staff position. You DO NOT have to print out the Dream Sheet. You can use it as the format to complete on a normal sheet of paper. If you can and choose to print it out, that is fine as well. I would like all responses by the end of the day Thursday, April 30.
Lastly, you can expect Block by Block ZOOM meetings next week to go over grading and the remainder of the year. More details will follow once I receive direction from school leadership.

Cancellations
Cadets and Parents,
All Unit Activities are cancelled as a result of the upcoming unplanned COVID19 Break. AMI will not happen next week, but could possibly happen when we return. The Drone Competition and Drill Meet scheduled for March 21st and March 28 are both cancelled. However, we will still participate in our monthly Zaxby’s Night on March 24th (unless told otherwise by Zaxby’s). Stay tuned to the ROTC Remind101 for any changes or updates!
