Work to Complete - Night
For the rest of the semester we will complete a novel study using Elie Wiesel’s Night. This novel has been uploaded in a PDF format under the Files tab.
Below you will find a list of assignments to complete while you are reading the novel(all of these are linked under the Files tab). Ideally, you will turn in 2 worksheets per week. These worksheets can be turned in by emailing me the answers, taking a picture of your wokrhseet and emailing it or send it through Remind.
After you finish the novel, complete a One Pager similar to the one you completed for your last independent reading assignment.
Additional worksheets and activities may be uploaded and announcements will be sent out about this.
These assignments will be graded and entered in Synergy as a means to increase your current class grade. Students will not be penalized for not turning in any of these assingments. In other words, their grade will not decrease from what they had on March 13th.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Work to Complete - The Hunger Games
For the rest of the semester we will complete a novel study using Suzanne Collin’s The Hunger Games.
After you finish the novel, complete the Responding to Challenges worksheet (under the Files tab). You will also choose one of the following to complete: An Independent Reading Choice Board Project - you do not have to do the journals OR watch the film and write a two page analysis where you discuss the similarities and differences between the book and the film.
These assignments will be graded and entered in Synergy as a means to increase your current class grade. Students will not be penalized for not turning in any of these assingments. In other words, their grade will not decrease from what they had on March 13th.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Independent Reading Journals and Project
Please look under the Files tab to find the instructions for your FIVE journals and your choices for the project. *Remember that you cannot choose the same project you did last time.* This is due by Friday – remember, you have had since the middle of February to read your book and work on this project!
Ways to submit:
1. Send to [email protected]
2. Share with me if you are using Office 365
3. Send as an attachment on Remind! (Which you all should join!)
If your project is not digital, which I am expecting it isn’t, you can simply take a picture and send me that.
Let me know if you are having any problems.
Miss you all.
