AP Government and Politics is a year long course at McEachern that meets every other day.  Students will prepare for the national AP Exam to be administered in May in an effort to earn college credit for government.

The course is an introduction to key political concepts, ideas, institutions, policies, interactions, roles and behaviors that characterize the constitutional system and political culture of the U.S.

Foundations of American Democracy
Interaction Among Branches of Government
Civil Liberties and Civil Rights
American Political Ideologies and Beliefs
Political Participation

MHS Grade Breakdown:
20% Classwork/Homework/Reading Quizzes
10% Formative Quizzes 
45% Summative Tests
5%   Midterm
20%  Final Exam

Students have access to a variety of resources for this class.  Due to the nature of the AP program, many of these are secure documents.  Students will be enrolled in Course Sites (an online learning management system) and most of their course documents and resources will be located in that system.
