Band Receives Superior Rating
Congratulations to all of the students and instructors in the band program. The three ensembles performed in the Annual Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation on Friday and Saturday here at McEachern High School. Symphonic I and Symphonic II Bands and the Wind Ensemble had outstanding performances on and off the stage. For the first time in school history, ALL McEachern Bands received an overall SUPERIOR rating! Congratulations to every member of the band program for your accomplishment! We are very proud of you!
Jeleesa Levy Selected to Perform in the Bands of America Honor Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade. Jeleesa will join 300 outstanding high school musicians and performers in Pasadena, California to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2009. Nearly a million people watch the "Parade of Parades" in person while hundreds of millions more watch the worldwide broadcast on TV in more than 150 international territories. In addition to the parade, the experience will also include a performance at the Tournament of Roses Bandfest. The Honor Band will be a featured guest as a part of the on-field performance. Jeleesa is the first student from McEachern to be selected for this incredible honor. |
