Why
Join PTSA?
Today,
more than ever, schools are challenged to provide every child with
the best education despite growing limitations. Budgets are
tight—in most cases, shrinking—while government requirements are
growing. The Number One reason to join PTA is to benefit your
child. In doing so, you’ll also help your school. Here are five
reasons you shouldn’t let the school year go by without becoming a
member.
-
Get connected.
There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school
than by joining PTSA. Through our PTSA email system, you will
be kept in the loop on information pertinent to McEachern, and
find out what you can do to help make a difference for your
child. See other side for information on how to register for
e-News.
-
Discover great
resources. As part of the National PTA, we have access to a
wide variety of resources to assist with everything from help
with homework to learning how to talk to your child about
difficult topics such as bullying and alcohol and other drugs.
The National PTA website is
http://www.pta.org/.
-
Watch yourself
grow. By volunteering with our PTSA, you put your skills and
hobbies to good use for a good cause—your child and all children
in the community. You can try new things and gain confidence,
whether you’re coordinating a college/career center, writing a
newsletter article, organizing a fundraiser or assisting with a
faculty dinner. Please send email to
[email protected].
-
Witness
improvement. By getting involved, you’ll be part of the
solution. Over the past 100 years, PTA has been the driving
force in establishing school lunch programs, after-school
programs, immunization programs, school bus safety, TV rating
standards and much more!
-
Be a role
model. As a PTSA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child
the importance you place on education. You’ll be teaching your
child about giving back to the community, and you’ll feel good
knowing that what you do through PTSA is helping not only your
child but all children receive a better education.
To
become a member of McEachern’s PTSA,
print
the membership form found on this page and send it to
school with your student in an envelope. Please include $5 for each
membership you purchase.
All senior students wanting to apply for a PTSA scholarship need to
be a member by the end of first semester. PTSA awards
four
$1,000 scholarships each year.
