Biography:
Jennifer Floyd began her teaching career at Lovejoy High School where she taught for six years, three years at Brookwood High School and is currently in her second year at McEachern High School. A native of St. Louis Mo, she is a 2000 graduate of Truman State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and Education. In 2003 she graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received a Masters in Music Pedagogy/Performance and Certification.

Ms. Floyd served as concertmaster at Truman State University as well as 1st violinist of the President’s String Quartet. She studied violin under the direction of Dr. Sam McClure and piano with Dr. David McKamie. While receiving her graduate degree, Ms Floyd studied privately with Dr. Tyrone Greive, Dr. Janet Jensen and Dr. Parry Karp.

Ms. Floyd was a member of the UW-Chamber Orchestra and Assistant Conductor of the University String Orchestra from 2000-2003. She is currently a violinist with the Idalia String Quartet, Principal 2nd of Southern Crescent Symphony and a substitute for the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, Lagrange Symphony and Valdosta Symphony.

Ms Floyd is an active clinician and adjudicator, including Spivey Chamber Workshop, Gwinnett County String Fling, District VI, Fayette County and Cobb County Middle School Honor Orchestras. During her tenure in Clayton County she served as the 2009 Pit Director for the All County Musical “Annie”, Director of the High School Honor Orchestra, Lead Teacher for High School Orchestras and Fine Arts Department Chair. In 2007 she was named STAR Teacher of the Year, and invited to sit on the Spivey Hall Board of Educators. In 2006 her Orchestra was selected to perform at the GMEA In-Service Conference.

Ms. Floyd is a member of GMEA, PAGE, ASTA, Sigma Alpha Iota and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She currently serves as the GMEA All College Orchestra organizer and ASTA President-Elect.

All Orchestras will bring a warm dish for festival. 

Philharmonic: Monday, February 23rd dressed by 8:20am and on stage by 8:30am.
               
If you are a member of the leadership team you need to be dressed by 1130/45 in all black.

Symphonic: Tuesday, Feburary 24th dressed by 8:30am and on stage by 8:30am.

If you are a member of the leadership team you need to be dressed by 11:30/45 in all black.

Chamber: Wednesday, February 25th dressed by 5:30pm.
