Information to Help You Prepare for Graduation: |

Final Transcripts |
- Please make a request for a final transcript to be sent to the college/university you plan to attend next year prior to graduation practice on May 19.
- A final transcript is NOT automatically sent for you unless you request it.
- Requests can be made in the Senior Office until May 15.
- If attending a Georgia college/university, you may request a transcript via www.GAcollege411.org.
- Information sheets are available in the BT office.
- Transcripts cost $2.00 each. (Exact change please).

Outstanding Debts |
- A list of students who owe books, materials, equipment, fees, discipline consequences, parking tickets, etc. will be posted in each administrative office in early May.
- Letters have been mailed to those students who may have outstanding debts.
- Please clear any debts quickly!
*You will not practice or participate in the graduation ceremony if these debts are not paid.

Caps/Gowns/Announcements |
- All announcement packages sent to our school will be delivered in April.
- Caps and gowns will be delivered in April.
- Check your package to be sure it is complete and not damaged in any way.
- Do not iron it! Hang it or steam it.

Graduation Video and Photographs |
- A video of the graduation ceremony will be available for sale.
- Additionally, a photograph of each graduate receiving his/her diploma will be taken-more information to follow.
- You may order online at mygradphotos.com.
- Video will be provided by MemoryMakers and information on ordering will be provided at practice.
- Cap and Gown Portraits- MAY (TBD) from 12-4 in the mezzanine of the new gym. Caps, gowns and tassels will be provided to avoid the risk of damaging your own items. Sign up in the Macland Office.

Ticket allocation for graduation: |
- 15 tickets per graduate to be used for the Stadium ceremony ONLY.
- 4 tickets per graduate to be used for the New Gym ceremony ONLY in the event of inclement weather.
- Tickets will be distributed at practice.
- There are NO extra tickets available.
- Special Needs Seating: There will be limited space available for ticketed guests that require special seating. There will be space available for one special needs guest and one additional guest to sit in this area. Please contact your administrator in advance of the graduation ceremony for more information. Maps of special needs areas will be provided.

Graduation Dress Code |
- Boys- White Dress shirts and dark ties, dark dress slacks, socks and dress shoes.
- Girls- Cream or white dresses (Gowns are white and your dress should not show through), comfortable white or cream dress shoes- you will climb stairs and walk across the stage in front of your families and classmates- no tumbling!
- RULES FOR ALL- NO SHORTS, FLIP-FLOPS, SNEAKERS, SLIPPERS, DECORATIONS OR ADORNMENTS ON CAPS OR GOWNS.
- ONLY SCHOOL-RELATED CORDS, STOLES AND TASSELS WILL BE ALLOWED. You will NOT participate in the ceremony if you are not dressed appropriately!

- The Assembly will be at 9:00 AM in the New Gym

- Prom Information will be coming soon.

May 03 - Senior Supper |
- 6:00 in New Gym – Graduates are free and tickets will be sold in advance for 2 additional family members.

May 11 - Senior Honors Night |
- 6:00 PM in the PAC
- Please submit copies of ALL college/university/community/civic athletic scholarship awards and military appointments regardless of acceptance to your counselor.
- For example, if a student is offered a full presidential scholarship from two different institutions, we need copies of both letters in order to recognize the student’s accomplishments. We will also count both awards in the Class of 2009’s final scholarship total although the student can only accept one scholarship award.

- 3:00 pm at The First Baptist Church in Powder Springs
Brief reception directly following sponsored by MHS PTSA
Gown will be worn (No Caps)

May 19-20 – Graduation Practice |
- 9:00 – 12:00 in the New Gym
All expectations for behavior and dress code will be enforced. All fines and debts MUST be paid prior to May 21
If all goes well, then there will be no practice on the day of graduation – May 22.

MAY 19 & 20 - Cap and Gown Portraits |
- 12:00 - 4:00 in the mezzanine of the new gym.
- Caps, gowns and tassels will be provided to avoid the risk of damaging your own items.
