The Marietta/Cobb Driver’s Education Program is a joint program of the Marietta and Cobb County School Systems. This program is licensed by the Georgia Department of Driver Services and includes 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. Behind-the-wheel instruction is individual instruction in a specially equipped car. This program meets the requirements for Joshua’s Law, and qualifies for the Teen Driver’s Education insurance discount.
Students must have a valid Georgia permit or license before they begin the six-hour behind-the-wheel portion of the course, but they can enroll in the classroom portion before they have a permit.
Students are assigned to driving instructors in the order in which they register for the program. The completion of the driving portion (6 hours) can take several months after classroom completion during times of unusually high enrollment.
