Naval
Helicopter Association Scholarship - The NHS Scholarship Fund is
looking for qualified applicants for several scholarship awards.
The will award four (4) national undergraduate scholarships, ranging
in value from $2,500 to $3,000; they will also award five (5)
regional undergraduate awards, each worth $2,000. There is no
restriction on eligibility - but students with military affiliation
(either prior service or a relative who has served) are given

Nestle’
Very Best in Youth Program - This program was created to
spotlight the best in youth leadership. The program identifies
teens whose efforts are making a profound impact in lives other than
their own. Nestle’ applauds the passionate commitment to community
service made by these young people. Nestle’ helps young people who
want to make a difference realize their dreams by donating $1,000 in
the name of each winner to the charity of his/her choice. Nestle’
also awards the winner a trip for them and their parents to Los
Angles for the Nestle’ VBIY awards ceremony. Winners are also
featured in a special publication and all entrants will receive a
certificate of achievement from Nestle’ and samples of Nestle’
products! Nominees must be between 13 and 18 years old, demonstrate
good citizenship, have a strong academic record, and show how they
have made a special contribution to their school, church, or

Texas A&M University Honors Program
- The Honors Program provides attractive opportunities for
competitive academic scholarships and honors study. Typically, over
600 applicants are offered a President’s Endowed, Lechner, or
McFadden Scholarship, which range in value from $10,000 to more than
$12,000 and cover approximately � of the cost of required tuition
and fees. Texas A&M also offers one-year Merit Plus Awards of
$2,000 to all National Merit Semifinalists who enroll in the
freshman class. Texas A&M invites you to apply and be considered
for Academic Scholarships. To be considered for scholarships,
applications must be received in the Honors Program Office by
December 1, 2008 - but they strongly suggest you apply
prior to November 1, 2008. Applications are available online at

The
Society For Automotive Engineers (SAE) - This organization
offers more than 60 scholarship awards from $1,000 - $10,000
annually. Interested students must be a senior at the date of
application, intend to earn a degree in engineering or related
science, and meet individual scholarship criteria. Starting this
year - no application fees! Applications are accepted September 1 -
December 1. Visit

George W. Jenkins Scholarship (University of Miami)
- Funded by Publix Supermarkets Charities, this is considered one of
the premier scholarships available at the University of Miami. This
four-year scholarship is awarded to students based on academic
merit, financial need and an essay that demonstrates a personal
history of overcoming adversity. The award includes tuition and
fees, on-campus room and board, books and supplies, and a $1,000
stipend per semester (totaling more than $45,000 annually!) To
qualify, you must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0
scale, a well-rounded college preparatory curriculum, participation
in school or community activities, a strong work ethic, a history of
overcoming adversity, and high financial need. See Mrs. Royer if

KFC
Colonel’s Scholars Program -
Winning this scholarship could mean up to $5,000 per year for
tuition, fees, books, and room and board! This scholarship program
is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to
pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their
legal state of residence. To qualify, you must: maintain a minimum
GPA of 2.75 or higher, enroll at a public, in-state
college/university, pursue a bachelor’s degree, and be a U.S.
citizen or permanent resident. Complete your application online

Mississippi State University
- Has a variety of scholarships and scholarship opportunities
available to graduating high school seniors in the Class of 2009.
Scholarships range from one-time awards of $500 to $34,000 spread
over four years. To apply, you must complete an admissions
application - then fill out the online scholarship resume.
Deadlines: Distinguished Scholarships - December 1, 2008; Freshman
Academic Scholarships - February 1, 2009; Leadership and Service
Scholarships - February 1, 2009.
Deltapine
- is please to announce the “My Future in Cotton” Scholarship. For
this year’s high school seniors, Deltapine cotton will award nine
(9) $1,000 scholarships. You must write an essay, 500 words or

AXA
Achievement Scholarship - Many students are affected by the high
and rising coasts of college tuition - so to help, the AXA
Foundation offers their annual AXA Achievement Scholarship! They
will award one (1) $10,000 scholarship in each state (52
scholarships of $10,000 each!), and then 10 scholarships worth
$15,000 each will be awarded to the 10 national recipients chosen
from the pool of 52 state winners. Qualified students are those who
set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive, determination, and
ability to succeed in college and who have respect for self, family,

Ron Brown Scholar Program
- is pleased to announce its annual scholarship program. Awards
will be given to African-American high school seniors who will make
significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel
academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate
in community service activities and demonstrate financial need.

Gates Millennium Scholars
- The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation presents its annual
scholarship award for undergraduate and graduate students. This
award is open to minority students who have significant financial
need and leadership capabilities. Interested students can pick-up
an application packet in the FC Office or visit

application and additional information. Deadline January 12,

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship - This scholarship is available to all high school
seniors who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by owning and
operating their own business while in high school. Qualifying
students must graduate from high school in the spring of 2009,
attend a 4 year college or university (private or public) within the
50 states, own and operate a genuine business (including
non-profits), and have at least one paid employee. The McKelvey
Foundation offers up to $10,000 per academic year for 4 years to any
US college or university - $40,000 total! Awards are based
solely on demonstration of entrepreneurial spirit - not based on
academic achievement or financial need. Apply online at

The Betty Gray Teacher Education Scholarship
- Foundation 2000 For Children is pleased to provide The Betty Gray
Teacher Education Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. Applicants
must attend an accredited college or university in Georgia and
pursue a degree in Elementary Education, Middle Grades Education, or
Secondary Education. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 Cumulative
Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale in order to qualify for the

National Co-Op Scholarship Program - The National Commission for Cooperative Education is a
non-profit organization dedicated to advancing high quality,
college-level cooperative education. As the largest independently
sponsored merit co-op scholarship in the United States, the National
Commission will award 200 merit scholarships of $6,000 each, for a
renewable value of $5,000,000! To be eligible for a merit co-op
scholarship, a student must apply and be accepted at one of the 10
NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities (see scholarship drawer for
list of colleges). Scholarship application and essay deadline
February 15, 2009.
Cobb
County Schools Educational Foundation Academic Scholarship - Each year, the Cobb County Public
Schools Educational Foundation awards two (2) $1,000 senior
scholarships to students attending each of the 16 Cobb County High
Schools. Qualified applicants must demonstrate involvement in
extracurricular/community activities, leadership traits, and
academic success. Applications are available in the FC Scholarship

Ayn
Rand Institute
- is pleased to announce its annual Essay Contest for high school
students. This competition is open to all 11th and 12th
grade students. First prize is a $10,000 scholarship. Visit

The American Legion - is please to announce the annual High
School Oratorical Scholarship Program for 2009. Contestants must be
high school students under the age of 20, and be citizens or lawful
permanent residents of the United States. Cash prizes through the
State championship can total as much as $2,500, and the National
winners are awarded scholarships of $18,000, $16,000, and $14,000
respectively for first, second, and third place. For more

The
Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) -
sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of the National
Association of Black Accountants, ACAP will take place from June 21
- 26, 2009 on the campus of Emory University. ACAP was created to
provide early exposure of the career opportunities in the
accounting, finance, and other business related fields to high
school students. This one-week residency program provides students
excellent opportunities to not only learn more about their future
career opportunities, but also to meet other students within the
Atlanta area. Students will be selected for ACAP through the
application process. All applicants must be in 11th or 12th
grade, have a current minimum GPA of 3.0, and meet all requirements
outlined in the application. Applications available in the FC
