Coach Kyle Hockman - Head Coach

Coach Kyle Hockman grew up in Cincinnati playing for his father, Ken Hockman, who is in the Ohio Coaches Hall of Fame and presently the WR coach at McEachern. He earned six varsity letters at Bowling Green State University (OH) (3 Football, 3 Baseball) and was All Mid-American Conference in both sports his senior year.

His career includes 9 years of college coaching experience at West Virginia University, East Carolina University, East Tennessee State University, and Millersville University (PA). He has coached 11 NFL Players.

He was head coach at Ryle High School, in the Cincinnati area, for five years and led his teams to 3 play-off appearances. From 2003-2006 Coach Hockman coached at Campbell High School in Smyrna. He was the Defensive Coordinator in ’03 and ’04, Offensive Coordinator in ’05 and then, as head coach in 2006, led the team to their first playoff victory and Region Championship since 1972.

In 2008 he took over as the head coach of McEachern HS. In 2009 he led the Indians to become the Region 5-AAAAA Champs, 1st since 1999 with an undefeated regular season.

Coach Hockman is married to Cindy, his wife of 15 years. Cindy is a nurse in the Wellstar System. They have two children, Savanna (13) and Bailey (12).

Coach Ken Hockman

Coach Ken Hockman is a 1965 graduate of Bowling Green State University. He is a member of the ’61, ’62 and ’64 Mid-American Conference Champions. Coach Hockman coached football in Ohio and Kentucky for 32 years. He was inducted into the Ohio Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001.

Coach Hockman is starting his 44th year in coaching and teaching. His is married to Judy, his wife of 45 years. The Hockmans have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.

 
 
 
   
Coach Phil Hoskins

Coach Hoskins played football and baseball at Emory & Henry College in Virginia. He coached 1 year as Wide Receivers coach at Emory. He served as a defensive coach at Appalachia High School in Virginia for 10 years where they achieved 4 State Championships. He coached DB’s at Volunteer High School in Tenn. for 2 years. He coached DB’s one year at Villa Rica High School, and has been Defensive Coordinator and Associate Head Coach at Chapel Hill High School for four years. He was OLB coach at Wheeler High School for two years. This will be his first year at McEachern and will also be the Head Track Coach. He and his wife Sherry have been married for 19 years.

 
 
 
   
Coach Jon Osnowitz

Coach Jon Osnowitz is in his first year at McEachern, after having served the previous 2 seasons at Campbell H.S. for Coach Hockman. He will serve as special teams coordinator and defensive line coach. Previous to Campbell he served for 20 coaching campaigns at several different locations. Coach Osnowitz has coached on all levels of football and has carried many different titles. At McEachern he will be teaching special education. He is a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University. He has 2 children, Sylvia who attends North Georgia College and Sean who is a sophmore football player at North Cobb.

 
 
 
   

Coach Geoff Pastrick

Coach Pastrick is starting his fourth year at McEachern and his 12th season overall.  Coach Pastrick is entering his third fall as the Indians offensive line coach and his second fall as the Assistant Head Coach.  Prior to joining the McEachern staff Coach Pastrick coached high school football in Texas after playing collegiately at Texas State University.

Coach Pastrick and his wife Heather celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary this past June.  In his free time Coach Pastrick enjoys spending time with Heather, watching college football and cheering on the Cubs at Wrigley Field!  Coach Pastrick is very thankful for the relationships he has formed with current players, past players and the coaching staff here at McEachern.


 
 
 
   
Coach Van Spence

Coach Spence, a native of Calhoun, GA, is entering his 10th year at McEachern High School. Coach Spence played collegiate baseball at Kennesaw St. University where he earned a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. This summer Coach Spence received his EDS in curriculum and instruction and will be teaching weight training and personal fitness.

Coach Spence is entering his second season as Offensive Coordinator and will continue to work with the Indians’ quarterbacks.

Coach Spence is married to the former Mandy Bode of Marietta, GA. She works as a 5th grade teacher at Blackwell Elementary and they have two boys, Bode (2) and Brady (6mo). In his free time, Coach Spence enjoys playing outside with his boys, golf, and cooking on his Big Green Egg.

 
 
 
   
Coach Terence Tarpley

Coach Tarpley, a native of Atlanta, GA is entering his first year at McEachern High School. He graduated from Marshall University where he earned a BA in Sports Management and Marketing, and a MS in Adult & Technical Education. Tarpley also lettered 6 times for the Thundering Herd playing Football where he earned Four MAC Championships and Five Bowl wins, and running track.

Coach Tarpley started his career at Marshall University where he was a Defensive Graduate Assistant. Last year, Tarpley coached over at Campbell. This year at McEachern, he will be the Defensive Backs coach, and Head Girls Track & Fields Coach.

Coach Tarpley enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and their two children Tylon, age 5, and Tyton who is 3 months old.

 
 
 
   
Coach Randy Taylor

Coach Taylor, a native of Shinglehouse, PA is entering his 20th year at McEachern. Coach Taylor serves as assistant wrestling coach as well as assistant football coach and athletic coordinator in charge of Academic Eligibility and the Sports Medicine Program.

Randy graduated from Kent State University with degrees in education and pre-med. While in college he participated in football, wrestling and baseball. He also played semi-pro football with the New Philadelphia Vikings and Canton Bulldogs for four years.

Randy presently teaches Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Science and Sports Medicine classes.

Coach Taylor’s free time is spent enjoying the outdoors with his dog Ryce and playing golf.

 
 
 
      Coach Chris Cody
 
Coach Cody was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia where he attended George High School and went on to play football at Clark Atlanta University.  He coached in the McEachern Junior Program for several years and is entering his 14th season as a coach at the high school level, his first at McEachern.  He is married to Karen, a McEachern graduate herself.  They have two children, Trina a 1995 McEachern graduate and C.J., class of 2012 and a member of the current team.

 
 
 
      Coach Bryan Minish
 
Coach Minish is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he served as a Student Assistant Coach with the Football program.  He is entering his first year at McEachern, his fourteenth year overall.  He served as the Defensive Coordinator at North Cobb the last 4 years and 6 years at South Cobb before that.  He will coach the Defensive Line and help with the boy's basketball team.  He is married to Bethani, who is a Special Education Teacher at Varner Elementary and has 2 sons Carter, age 6 and Carson, age 4.  Coach Minish enjoys spending time with his family, playing trivia, golfing, and watching the Braves, Falcons, and DAWGS.
 
 
 
      Coach Dave Shuler
 
Coach Shuler is in his 4th year of coaching football and has been at McEachern for 11 years, where he has also coached girls slow pitch softball and lacrosse.  He has been married to wife Sandra for 34 wonderful years; they have a son, Jason, a daughter, Setphanie and three grandchildren:  Chandler, Jordan and Halley.
